84th post - Sir Christopher Lee!

Image
Oh my... today was a sad day... Sir Christopher Lee has passed away. He was the only cast member of "the Lord of the Rings" that had actually met J.R.R.Tolkien. It is said that Tolkien wanted him to play the role of Gandalf if, someday, "the Lord of the Rings" went to the big screen. All that apart, what a great Man! Amazing actor, and amazing person... a true inspiration both in his job and in his intellect. Christopher Lee was, is, and always will be a Legend!!

59th post - Grima Wormtongue!

Image
I would like to start this post stating that, now on, all my posts will start with a brief presentation of the character that gave life to the mini that I've painted and my personal opinion about it. I've decided to do so because, I might haven't said it yet, but I'm a huuuuuu...uuuuge  J.R.R.Tolkien fan since i first read the Fellowship of the Ring book in 2002. So, let us begin: It is well known that Grima is a faithful servant of Saruman during the Lord of the Rings . But let us go deeper in what he represents. In my personal opinion Grima is a Gollum-like case. I do feel sorry for him sometimes. He was a Rohirrim, once. A respectable person whose advices were highly appreciated in Edoras, particularly by Théoden King. But he was also very close to Saruman and,as soon as Saruman decided to go after the One Ring, Grima followed him and betrayed Rohan. And It is here that my sorrow for Grima takes part. Well, in my opinion, Grima fell under the powers of Sarum...

42nd Post - Uruk-Hai Siege Troops!

Image
Hey guys :D So, as I said before, I'm trying to evolve my highlighting. I decided to go slowly because I don't want to ruin my minis, so the result in this ones isn't very notorious. Here is nr 27 - the Uruk-Hai Siege Troops:

27th post - Grishnákh!

Image
And now, for book 17, we got this lovely orc creature called Grishnákh! Grishnák has a strong hippie sense and a deep love for nature, especially the kind of nature that splashes on the floor when one's guts gets ripped off!!!! Enough with the praises. This miniature is really cool and I had lots of fun painting it. I'm aware that the face is a little messed up, but, overall, I'm happy with it eheheh And now for the 3rd Vallejo review section this is what I have to say: Blah blah blah... Vallejo is the best... blah blah blah... go ahead and buy it... blah blah blah... Here are my previous 2 reviews on Vallejo: Review 1 , Review 2 This are the paints I used:

25th post - Saruman!

Image
With my new Vallejo paints at hand I couldn't wait to use them so, who better than Saruman?? :) This is the number 15 of the GW/Deagostini collection. So here he is: And for the Vallejo section, I've only used 3 paints of them for this miniature: Offwhite, Sand Yellow and Sepia Shade Wash. Well, I need to say that this was my first Vallejo experience, and I already feel grateful to have such quality paints at my disposal. Most people say they're the best, and I'll have to agree! Huge pigmentation, great consistency that makes it easier to mix, a wash that stays in the recesses really easily... A dream for every miniature painter! Sand Yellow rate: 10/10 Offwhite rate: 10/10 Sepia Shade Wash: 9*/10 * Personally, I think that the Vallejo wash is at the same level as the AP quickshade!
